The Therapy Tech position at Memorial Acute Care offers a unique opportunity to engage directly with patients while assisting physical and occupational therapists in their treatment sessions. The Therapy Tech will work under the guidance of licensed therapists, providing hands-on assistance during various therapeutic activities and exercises. This position is part-time, with a full-time shift from Monday to Friday, specifically from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM, allowing for a structured work schedule that promotes work-life balance. In this role, the Therapy Tech will be responsible for escorting patients, guests, clients, and residents to treatment areas, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the process. The position involves assisting patients with transfers, gait training, and exercise routines, all while adhering to the directives of the supervising therapist. The Therapy Tech will also prepare whirlpool baths and assist with dressing changes, maintaining a high standard of infection control practices. Monitoring patient responses to treatment and reporting any concerns to the appropriate supervisor is a critical aspect of this role, ensuring that patient care remains the top priority. Additionally, the Therapy Tech will be tasked with maintaining a clean and orderly work environment, which includes changing linens on treatment tables and ensuring that all supplies and equipment are properly stored.
