About The Position

The position involves assisting licensed therapists in providing care to patients in a therapeutic setting. Responsibilities include preparing treatment areas, assisting in patient care, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. The role also requires performing administrative tasks and managing supply inventory. The candidate will work with a diverse patient population, including pediatric, adolescent, and geriatric patients, and may occasionally be on-call for inpatient therapy on weekends.

Requirements

• Must hold a current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification or obtain it through the new hire process at Gritman Medical Center.
• Valid driver's license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation.
• Must complete Gritman competencies.

Nice To Haves

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience working with pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment areas, patients, equipment, and materials under the supervision of licensed therapists.
• Assist in patient care, including applying heat/cold packs, guiding patients on exercise equipment, and monitoring progress.
• Provide comfort to patients, addressing concerns and answering questions.
• Educate patients on proper use of equipment and exercise routines as directed by therapists.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including sterilizing equipment and managing supplies.
• Monitor and report any concerns regarding patient safety during therapy sessions.
• Assist in transporting patients within the facility using wheelchairs and support during walking.
• Perform administrative tasks such as answering phone calls, filing, and scheduling appointments.
• Manage supply inventory and equipment maintenance, ensuring functionality and reporting any issues.
• Occasionally be on-call for inpatient therapy on weekends.
• Order home equipment for patients post-surgery.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
