About The Position

NHC Place at the Trace is looking for a Therapy Office Assistant to join our team! The Therapy Office Assistant is responsible for performing designated tasks related to the operation of the therapy services in a fast-paced therapy department.

Requirements

  • Experience in a healthcare setting or medical office administration is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Self-motivated and detail oriented.
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Good time management skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.

  • Training as an Administrative Assistant.

Responsibilities

  • Answer phones and greet customers at the therapy entrance reception.
  • Manage outpatient therapy program tasks including insurance authorization and verification, scheduling, chart management, order verification, and handling insurance appeals/denials.
  • Ensure all therapy partner time is complete and accurate for payroll.
  • Attend weekly meetings to ensure patient information is current and communicated with the multidisciplinary team for ongoing patient care.
  • Assist with onboarding of new therapy partners, maintain personnel files, provide EHR training, and verify licensure.
  • Review weekly and monthly reports to ensure accurate and complete documentation.
  • Order and track Durable Medical Equipment.
  • Provide IT support for the therapy department.
  • Perform other duties to ensure ongoing compliance and workflow for the therapy team.
