About The Position

Individual will assist with group, individual, and family therapy under supervision from licensed therapy staff. Individual will also provide evidence-based behavioral interventions and therapeutic strategies to patients and families, assist with case management and safety planning, observe treatment plans and reviews, assist with crisis intervention, complete Columbia assessments, and observe and participate in treatment team meetings while supervised by therapy staff. Reports directly to the Director of Therapy.

Requirements

  • Must have completed Bachelor’s degree in a behavioral health field (social work, counseling, psychology).
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variable as needed.
  • Ability to write routine reports and speak effectively with patients and their families, employees and public.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variable as needed.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Ability to deal with a variety of personality types; remains calm during high stress situations.
  • The employee is regularly required to talk, hear, and use hands to handle or feel objects. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel or crouch, and smell.
  • The employee must occasionally assist or lift patient and be able to move up to 100 pounds.
  • Incumbent will be expected to participate as necessary in the physical restraint of patients, have the ability to respond to rapidly escalating patient situations, and adapt to the may varied resultant physical posturing as a result of such circumstances after Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust and focus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide supportive counseling for adult, adolescent, and child patients
  • Provide group therapy for adult, adolescence, and child patients.
  • Provide group therapy for adults, adolescence, and children.
  • Assists with completing patient assessments
  • Assists with safety and discharge planning
  • Assists with crisis intervention
  • Assists with treatment planning
  • Presents patient information at treatment tem meetings for reviews of patient progress and discharge planning procedures.
  • Maintains all clinical documentation in accordance with regulatory and accrediting standards
  • Documents and reports all suspected incidents of abuse and/or neglect in compliance with current regulations.
  • Meets staff development requirements.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
