About The Position

GENERAL SUMMARY Reports to the Director of Therapy Services. Performs designated tasks related to the operation of the department and wellness center. Performs infection control activities in the therapy clinic. PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Answers phone calls in a timely manner, responds to caller's needs, & uses appropriate phone etiquette. 2. Receives & conveys messages appropriately and in a timely manner. 3. Provides courteous, cooperative services to patients, visitors & staff. Demonstrates good communications skills. 4. Assists clinicians with non-skilled patient care per the direction and oversight of the clinician. 5. Discuss any concerns regarding a patient's health with the patient's clinician. 6. Reports to the department director all incidents, equipment malfunctions, and program-related issues. 7. Assists in performing various clerical functions, such as filing charts, making copies, faxing, etc. as needed. 8. Assists in maintaining an orderly, sanitized, and safe work environment. Maintains required cleaning records. 9. Accurately completes processes for new patients, including accurate registration information, when applicable. 10. Schedules patients for initial and subsequent visits. 11. Completes required/requested tasks in a timely manner and without prompting. 12. Participates in the performance improvement activities of the department. 13. Complies with organizational attendance policy and use of the electronic timekeeping system. 14. Performs work within specified time frames. Adapts positively to frequent changes and interruptions in workload &/ or work schedules 15. Adheres to department policies and procedures. 16. Uses time efficiently and productively to enhance dept. operations & the success of the dept. 17. Completes all competency/skills assessments and training as required. 18. Completes other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must have the physical strength to perform the following lifting tasks: • Floor to waist - 40 pounds • Waist to shoulder - 20 pounds • Shoulder to overhead - 10 pounds • Carry 40 pounds for 30 feet • Push 40 pounds/force for 30 feet • Pull 40 pounds/force for 15 feet
  • High School graduate or GED is preferred, but not required.
  • Knowledge in exercise and fitness and some related experience is preferred.
  • Emotional stability conducive to dealing with moderately stressful situations, and effective working relationships with customers, peers, department and organizational leadership, physicians and other health care providers.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to communicate and work cooperatively with department patients, hospital and department staff.
  • Basic computer skills, including use of Microsoft Word, keyboard and mouse.
  • Active license and competent in BLS CPR certification.
