About The Position

While upholding the Star Valley Health mission, vision and values this key position is responsible for assisting therapists administer to patients. They assist with the preparation of patients for their therapy sessions. Aides should keep the treatment area organized, stocked and clean. They are also responsible for clerical tasks such as answering phones, admitting patients, ordering supplies, documenting patient interaction, filling out insurance documents and completing other paperwork when necessary. This is an at will position.

Requirements

  • Professional oral and written communication
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products and Internet
  • Multi-tasking skills with the ease of changing directions upon request and need
  • Sound analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment, communicate effectively, and demonstrate sensitivity to clients, visitors and staff
  • Strong organizational and prioritization aptitude
  • Comply with HIPAA and other federal, state and local regulations, as well, as maintain the highest degree of confidentiality in client and staff matters
  • Position requires constant standing, sitting, walking, bending, lifting, pushing and pulling with computer use
  • High School diploma, or GED required
  • Knowledge of principles, methods, and procedures for diagnosis, and treatment of patients

Responsibilities

  • Assist Therapy Staff: Confer with therapy staff to assist with patient treatment as directed and allowable by insurance regulations.
  • Safeguard, motivate, and assist patients in practicing exercises and functional activities under the direction of medical staff.
  • Report observations to the therapist to aid in treatment planning and adjustments.
  • Administer Therapeutic Exercises: Administer active and passive manual therapeutic exercises with the direct supervision of a licensed therapist.
  • Measure and record patients' vital signs at the start of each visit.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain thorough and up-to-date patient records in compliance with clinic policies and regulations.
  • Clinic Maintenance: Keep a clean and organized work area, ensuring all equipment is disinfected after each treatment.
  • Take inventory of supplies, order additional supplies as needed, and ensure proper stock levels are maintained.
  • Clerical Duties: Perform clerical tasks such as answering telephones, taking messages, and filling out forms.
  • Properly and promptly enter accurate information into the E.H.R. system and know how to navigate aspects of registration, checking in, client billing, and provider scheduling needs.
  • Assist with scheduling, training, and other administrative duties as directed by the clinic coordinator.
  • Manage and process patient billing information, including tracking visit limits and modifiers.
  • Check benefit limits and submit prior authorizations.
  • Assist Clinic Coordinator: Cover for Clinic Coordinator when they are out of the office
  • Act as a liaison between internal and external customers, including insurance companies, providers, and other SV Health departments.
  • Engage in staff development by attending training sessions and providing support to new hires.
  • Collaborate in the coordination of program objectives, budgetary considerations, and regulatory compliance.
  • Training and Professional Development: Attend scheduled training sessions and meetings to stay updated on industry developments and enhance skills.
  • Participate in workshops and training sessions to improve competencies and knowledge.
  • Other Duties: Perform additional duties and tasks as they arise or are delegated by the clinic coordinator or therapists.
  • Adapt to the changing needs of the clinic and its patients, ensuring high-quality care and efficient operations.
