About The Position

Glen Oaks Hospital is a 54-bed private mental health hospital in a relaxed setting in Greenville, Texas. Our comfortable, homelike atmosphere is conducive to healing for the adults and seniors we treat. Our greatest asset is the staff, comprised of psychiatrists, professional nurses, social workers and therapists. These individuals work as a team to uphold Glen Oaks Hospital’s reputation for excellence in helping patients resolve mental health and addiction problems. For over 30 years, Glen Oaks Hospital has been a leader in the field of mental health and chemical dependency care, and our staff is dedicated to researching the latest treatment approaches and applying this to our overall treatment philosophy. The Therapy Aide performs counseling and social services functions to include assisting patients in meeting their biopsychosocial needs while enabling them to access through therapeutic treatment skills to achieve their optimal level of emotional health, teaching, complete specialized clinical services for patients/families receiving care, crisis intervention, and providing information and referrals as needed.

Requirements

  • Completion of course work for bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, in Counseling or a clinical related mental health field.
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in related disciplines with behavioral health hospital experience strongly preferred.
  • Handle with Care and Verbal De-Escalation training within 30 days of appointment and prior to assisting in a restraining procedure.
  • CPR Certification. Certification may be obtained during new hire orientation.
