About The Position

The primary job duties this position is responsible for achieving are listed in order of importance. This role involves providing therapy care to inpatients and outpatients within the scope of documented on-the-job training and with onsite supervision of a licensed therapist or therapist assistant. Essential therapeutic care includes, but is not limited to, moist heat, cryotherapy, massage, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, whirlpool, intermittent cervical/pelvic traction, and therapeutic exercise. Additionally, the position requires performing daily clerical and office duties, such as outpatient scheduling, Xeroxing, filing charts and records, and placing completed notes in patient charts. The individual must report to work on time, complete work within designated time, and use the computerized time clock correctly. Participation in staff meetings, performance improvement activities, and demonstrating knowledge of emergency procedures are also essential functions of this role.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • One or more years of experience working under the supervision of a licensed therapist.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Must be able to work in a union environment.
  • BLS certification.
  • Current Los Angeles County Fire Card required within 30 days of employment.
  • Assault Response Competency (ARC) required within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist licensed personnel in keeping the department running smoothly by performing therapeutic activities.
  • Provide therapy care to inpatients and outpatients under supervision.
  • Perform daily clerical and office duties including outpatient scheduling and filing.
  • Report to work on time and complete work within designated time.
  • Use computerized time clock correctly.
  • Attend staff meetings and actively participate.
  • Participate in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities.
  • Demonstrate understanding of emergency procedures.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of equipment capabilities and limitations.
  • Access and use computer systems effectively.
  • Communicate respectfully with physicians, staff, and patients.
  • Demonstrate a positive professional image and flexibility in patient care.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Assist department management in resolving and evaluating problem situations.
  • Assume other duties as required.
