About The Position

RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for assisting occupational/physical/speech therapists and therapist assistants to provide rehabilitative and technical care to the patient under the direction of licensed personnel. Supports department by maintaining supply of clinical documentation and education forms. Prepares program evaluation forms. Maintains inventory of supplies. Orders and tracks receipt of supplies. Assists occupational/physical/speech therapists, therapist assistants and other treating personnel in patient treatment and/or evaluation. Escorts/transports patients safely to and from therapy sessions within the facility. Assists with patient group sessions as directed by supervisory staff. Follows instruction from supervisor and occupational/physical/ speech therapist to perform other functions as assigned in order to achieve the goals within the department. Communicates with patient, families and co-workers in a respectful manner to maintain a positive customer oriented approach. QUALIFICATIONS: 1-2 years' experience as a physical therapy aide preferred. CPR for Health Care Provider/CPR for Professional Rescuer required at time of hire or within 30 days from date of hire. Incumbent must be 18 years of age or older. May be required to drive a motor vehicle. If required to drive, must have current valid driver's license, must submit a copy of current driver's abstract reflecting a good driving record, and have the required mobility needed to drive.
