About The Position

Lone Star Circle of Care is a non-profit, Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) dedicated to providing high-quality health care to patients in Central Texas, particularly the underserved. The organization aims to build a healthier community and improve lives. The Therapist role involves working with the underserved population and those who may be experiencing significant barriers to care. This position offers the autonomy to decide the best therapeutic modalities for patients and to work with them on achieving their therapeutic goals in an outpatient setting. Therapists are expected to be comfortable providing individual therapy both in person and virtually.

Requirements

  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Licensed Professional Counselor
  • Passionate about working with the underserved population and those who may be experiencing significant barriers to care
  • Comfortable providing individual therapy both in person and virtually
  • Mission focused and passionate about improving access to quality mental healthcare
  • Proactive and thrives in a fast-paced clinical setting
  • Comfortable working independently in a group setting while also seeking support and consultation from colleagues
  • Possesses extensive knowledge of DSM-5-TR
  • Possesses computer/technology skills to efficiently document using an electronic health record and conduct telemedicine visits, as well as communicating/meeting with colleagues virtually

Responsibilities

  • Decide the best therapeutic modalities for patients
  • Work with patients on achieving their therapeutic goals in an outpatient setting
  • Provide individual therapy both in person and virtually
  • Utilize initial interview and screenings to provide diagnoses and care planning
  • Collaborate with patients, and effectively communicate clinical impressions, while assessing strengths, barriers, and psychosocial needs
  • Interact and collaborate with community partners and emergency medical/psychiatric service providers to ensure patient safety, including whether a patient needs a higher level of care
  • Efficiently document using an electronic health record
  • Conduct telemedicine visits
  • Communicate/meet with colleagues virtually
