About The Position

As a Therapist for GJR in Indiana, you will play a critical role in supporting individuals and families through various mental health challenges by providing evidence-based therapeutic interventions. Your primary objective will be to assess, diagnose, and treat emotional, behavioral, and psychological issues to improve clients' overall well-being and quality of life. You will work collaboratively with clients to develop personalized treatment plans that address their unique needs, including crisis intervention and management of life transitions. This role requires a compassionate and empathetic approach to foster a safe and trusting environment where clients feel empowered to explore their thoughts and emotions. Ultimately, your work will contribute to the promotion of mental health awareness and the reduction of stigma associated with seeking psychological support.

Requirements

  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in Counseling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Social Work, or a related mental health field.
  • Valid state licensure or certification as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing psychotherapy and mental health counseling.
  • Strong knowledge of crisis intervention techniques and behavioral health principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with diverse client populations.

Nice To Haves

  • Specialized training or certification in group therapy, family therapy, or anger management.
  • Experience working with clients undergoing significant life transitions such as grief, divorce, or career changes.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and teletherapy platforms.
  • Additional credentials in trauma-informed care or substance abuse counseling.
  • Bilingual abilities or experience working with multicultural communities.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide individual, group, and family therapy sessions using evidence-based techniques.
  • Implement crisis intervention strategies to support clients experiencing acute mental health episodes.
  • Facilitate anger management and behavioral health programs tailored to client needs.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including psychiatrists, social workers, and healthcare providers to ensure holistic care.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Stay current with developments in psychotherapy and mental health counseling through continuous professional development.
