Therapist Summary: Uses specialized knowledge of human behavior and systems theory to assist families to improve their capacity to provide care to their children through direct service, counseling, interventions, and advocacy. Essential Functions: Provides initial and ongoing assessment of clinical needs and document changes in level of care on a regular basis Provides therapeutic services to clients and families who have been assessed as needing mental health intervention in order to stabilize symptoms of a mental health disorder. Effectively engages clients, families and natural supports to participate in treatment through treatment planning and progress reviews. Provides crisis intervention when needed. Provides CPST services as needed such as linkage with other community resources, advocacy for clients with other agencies, coordination of services, emergency assistance, and assistance in basic living skills. Initiates services within expected timeframe as set by agency standards. Completes progress notes and service documentation per agency standards. Maintains files in accordance with all regulatory compliance standards. Acts as liaison between referral sources, external partners and internal LYS service lines & programs. Provides back-up support and coverage to other employee and programs as needed. Participates in appropriate professional development activities and required training.
