About The Position

PURPOSE: Therapist will be responsible for the provision of clinical mental health services provided to children and teens in the Foster Care and Adoption program and mental health services provided within the community and billed to Medicaid and/or private health insurance plans.

Requirements

• Applicant must have a Master's Degree.
• A Master’s Degree in a clinical field (i.e., psychology, social work, counseling) required with a clinical practicum/internship.
• Must be capable of transporting children and traveling to homes within a 40-mile radius, possessing a valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and current auto insurance.
• Must be available to work weekdays, including afterschool and evening hours.

Responsibilities

• Carries a caseload of clients and families, assesses cases and develops treatment plans and service authorizations using Rule 132/140 Medicaid standards, implements service plans using individual, group, and family therapy, and routinely evaluates the progress of cases during treatment.
• Attend or request staffings, as necessary, as well as attend any other meetings related to the child for the purpose of coordinating interventions with the interdisciplinary team, including testimony in court.
• Provide consultation with other program staff, biological parents, foster parents, etc. regarding children’s therapeutic issues as needed.
• Documents contact with client, client’s family (clinical documentation requirements) according to Medicaid Part 132/140, agency, DCFS, and DHS standards.
• Attend and participate in individual and group clinical supervision on a weekly basis.
• Attend and participate in team and department meetings as scheduled.
• Maintain and increase clinical skills through training and research.
• Provide training to foster families, staff, and other service providers.
• Provide on-call crisis intervention and support on a rotating basis.
• Maintain an awareness of all safety activities in the area and immediately report all accidents and safety hazards to supervisor.
• Maintains a current American Heart Association certification in First Aid and CPR.
• Successfully completes Little City required training, re-training, and any additional training as required by Little City policies and practices, or as assigned by his or her immediate supervisor.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
