  • Assesses the member’s behavioral health needs to develop therapy treatment goals every 180 days at a minimum.
  • Administers screener and standardized testing based on clinical need.
  • Schedules therapy sessions with members and obtains required consents for treatment and licensure.
  • Performs chart reviews to ensure member’s clinical assessment and treatment plan are current and to review member’s progress between sessions.
  • Develops treatment team recommendations for follow-up support and services.
  • Licensed Associate Addiction Counselors and Licensed Independent Addiction Counselors will provide assessment and therapy related to substance use treatment and recovery (A.A.C R4-6-705 C).
  • Maintains clinical records in a timely manner according to standards.
  • Provides effective crisis assessment and intervention including arranging for emergency psychiatric evaluation/hospitalization as indicated.
  • Assesses and diagnoses utilizing ICD-10 criteria. Utilizes DC 0-5 to provide diagnoses or diagnostic impressions for children aged birth to five. Utilizes DSM-5-TR to provide diagnoses or diagnostic impressions for children and adults.
  • Meets requirements of productivity standards set for therapists.
  • Completes progress notes using the appropriate covered service billing codes and writes comprehensive and timely reports as required by funding source and/or system partners.
  • Participates in additional training to further clinical skills.
  • Conducts training.
  • Mentors/offers shadowing to newer therapists.
  • Takes referrals for commercial/self-pay population.
  • Participates in the process of ongoing professional development and meetings. Maintains comprehensive communication among all contacts within the agency, members, and external agencies. Models professional standards and ethics in accordance with EBF Code of Conduct, Strategic Plan, Mission, and Vision.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Minimum Requirements: Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or related behavioral health field eligible for licensure by the AZ Board of Behavioral Health with two years related experience (BHT) or Associate license in social work, counseling, marriage and family, or substance abuse recognized by the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners (BHP) required.
  • Therapist II has obtained permanent associate level licensure with AZBBHE.
  • Therapist III has obtained permanent independent level licensure with AZBBHE.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Current, unrestricted AZ driver’s license with no more than two (2) minor moving violations or one (1) accident within the past three (3 years). Three (3) years of driving experience required.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an AZ DPS Level 1 fingerprint clearance card (employer provides).
  • CPR and First Aid certification (Employer provides).
  • Satisfactorily Completed Competency Checklist within 6 months of hire.
  • Must have a strong clinical knowledge of development across the life span and knowledge of best practices when working with diverse populations with trauma backgrounds.
  • Extensive knowledge of managed care systems, AHCCCS/Title XIX medical assistance screening, and ADHS policies and practices.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the current DSM and relevant diagnosis for the population served.
  • Ability to accurately read, record and interpret information, including assessments, measures, and diagnostic criteria.
  • Demonstrates clinical competency in accordance with standards for the position.
