About The Position

El Paso Behavioral Health System, a subsidiary of UHS, is a private 167-bed psychiatric hospital in El Paso, Texas, specializing in mental health and chemical dependency care. It offers a wide range of evidence-based services, including inpatient and outpatient programs, providing supportive and compassionate care tailored to patient needs. The Program Therapist is an active member of the multidisciplinary treatment team, responsible for providing direct patient care.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Counseling or Social Work related field
- Minimum of one year of experience in a mental health field
- Experience in providing direct care and/or family and group therapy
- Experience in crisis intervention
- Clinical assessment skills
- Treatment planning skills
- Texas License in Social Work or clinical related mental health field (LPC-Intern, LPC, LMSW, LCSW, LCDC)
- Complete Handle with Care training within 90 days of employment and prior to assisting in any restraining procedures
- Complete competencies within 90 days of hire and annually via test taking, return demonstration, or the use of simulation
- TB Test and CPR certification must be completed prior to working with patients
- Knowledge of CMS, TJC, TAC, OSHA, state and federal regulatory requirements, and hospital policies
