About The Position

Job Summary Diagnoses and treats substance use disorders. Creates individualized treatment plans according to people's needs and circumstances. Meets with people regularly to provide counseling, treatment, and adjust treatment plans as necessary. Conducts ongoing assessments of progress. Description of responsibilities: Conducts screenings and comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments for substance use disorders for those individuals seeking outpatient counseling services and co-occurring behavioral health issues according to best practices and agency policy and procedures, including the identification of a diagnosis. Conducts counseling for individuals and groups regarding psychological or emotional problems such as stress, substance use, or family situations. Develops and implements therapeutic treatment plans that are developed with a Person-centered/Family-centered philosophy.

Requirements

  • A Master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, marriage & family therapy, or other related and applicable degree.
  • Must possess active status, with licensure or certification in accordance to the professional field required by that governing body (LLMSW, LMSW, LPC, etc.) and one of the following: Certified by the Michigan Certification Board for Addiction Professionals (specifically Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC) or Must have a registered development plan and be timely in its implementation.

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer one or more years of experience providing individual/group therapy and/or EAP (Employee Assistance Program) counseling.
  • Salary Commensurate with full licensure, CAADC or CAADC-DP, ASAM Continuum Training and experience working in the public health system.
