About The Position

POSITION SUMMARY Responsible for providing counseling and other clinical services to children, adults, couples, and families.

Requirements

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Must possess the knowledge, personal qualities, and practice skills to work effectively with professionals in other organizations and from other disciplines and to provide services in a manner that reflects understanding and appreciation of multiculturalism.
  • The ability and willingness to actively participate in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices and various treatment modalities used with the population(s) served.
  • Must meet DCFS/CANTS Clearance Requirements.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and maintain proof of automobile insurance.
  • A Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited program or in a related human service field required.
  • Completion of CARE and TCI training is an internal requirement for all staff and must be completed upon hire.
  • Pass the written test annually
  • Pass the physical test every six months (if applicable to their role)

Nice To Haves

  • License of Clinical Social Work (LCSW) or Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides individual, group, and family therapy in an office or community setting, utilizing evidence-based practices and a variety of therapeutic approaches.
  • Completes bio-psycho-social assessment and develops treatment goals with the client and parent/guardian as appropriate.
  • Provide crisis intervention services as needed.
  • Participates in clinical case staffing as needed. Schedules clinical case staffing to ensure consistent communication with other professional staff involved with the client.
  • Collaborates with external agencies and with families to coordinate services on behalf of the individuals served.
  • Maintains case records and notes in a timely and professional manner. Submits counseling reports as defined in the policy.
  • Assures proper billing for self-pay and insured clients. Complies with all Insurance, Medicaid Rule 132, and Managed Care Organization requirements based on client’s insurance type.
  • Participate in Utilization Review of clinical files.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.
