About The Position

Laurel Heights Hospital is a 112-bed facility located in Atlanta Ga. We are dedicated to providing youth with compassionate mental health treatment that encourages self-responsibility and personal growth. We provide psychiatric treatment to children and adolescents that present with a broad range of psychiatric, behavioral disorders and autism. Requirements

Be fully licensed in Georgia with a master's degree in mental health/social services/counseling field to work with females/males, age range from 6-17 who are developmentally delayed, diagnosed with ASD and experiencing significant psychiatric and behavioral symptoms.
Excellent organization skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proven track record of reliability and consistency of high performance.
Strong desire to learn and grow professionally.
Must have a valid Driver's License in state of residency.

Responsibilities

Plan and administers therapeutic treatment, behavior modification, and stress management therapy to assist residents in developing/displaying appropriate behaviors Changes method and degree of therapy when indicated by resident reactions/needs
Discuss progress toward goals with residents or families of residents such as medication regiment, family relationships, educational programs, social development, discharge plans or other behavioral problems.
Consult with psychologists/psychiatrists or other specialists concerning treatment plans and amends plans as required.
Maintain regular contact with other agencies/professionals regarding client progress in the therapeutic treatment program through phone calls, letters, and/or monthly reporting.
Develop and implement appropriate discharge planning with residents, family, and placing agency.
Develop and maintain positive relationships with external customers, families and residents and employees.
Assess treatment goals and write goal-directed, individualized treatment plans, as well as the ability to monitor and document individual behavior patterns and modify treatment plans to meet changing treatment goals.
Demonstrate an understanding of the therapeutic process and commitment to help the youth achieve their treatment goals. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage difficult client discussions.
Maintain effective working relationships with peers, supervisors and outside agencies. Ability to work independently and in a group setting.
Exhibits an exemplary work ethic by being highly organized, detailed and thorough.
