About The Position

This opportunity is a full-time, benefit eligible position. The Therapist performs social service functions to include assisting clients in meeting their bio-psycho-social needs while enabling them to access through therapeutic treatment skills to achieve their optimal level of emotional health. The clinical social services provided includes crisis intervention, short-term family therapy, group therapy, discharge planning, as well as basic consultation, teaching, and specialized clinical social services for patients/families receiving care. The Therapist serves as an integral member of the treatment team and is also responsible for case management of patients internal/ external support systems. Lincoln Prairie Behavioral Health Center is dedicated to providing youth with compassionate mental health treatment that encourages self-responsibility and personal growth. We are the only facility of our kind in Central Illinois. We provide psychiatric treatment to children and adolescents that present with a broad range of psychiatric and behavioral disorders. A clinically skilled multidisciplinary team works to partner with the youth and family to accomplish their goals in a supportive and therapeutic environment.

Requirements

  • Strong clinical assessment skills with majority of experience focused on the child/adolescent population.
  • Demonstrate competency in the criteria listed in job description.
  • Perform bio-psychosocial assessments that aid in the development of a multidisciplinary treatment plan.
  • Education: Master’s Degree in a mental health/human services field from an accredited college (counseling, social work, psychology) required.
  • Experience: Two (2) years’ experience desired, preferably in a behavioral health care facility, with direct experience in individual, family and group therapies, crisis intervention and treatment.
  • Licensure/Certification: LCSW/LCPC preferred. Certification as alcohol or other drug abuse counselor preferred. Successful completion of CPR certification and current patient aggression management training within 90 days of employment.
