About The Position

Licensed Therapist – ACT Team Strategic Interventions, LLC | North Carolina Strategic Interventions, LLC is seeking a Licensed Therapist to join our Assertive Community Treatment Team (ACTT) serving adults with severe and persistent mental illness in community-based settings across North Carolina. This is a great opportunity for a clinician who is passionate about community mental health, interdisciplinary collaboration, and making a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals with serious mental illness. Position Summary The Licensed Therapist is an integral member of the ACT Team and provides individual, family, and group therapy to members in community-based environments (homes, workplaces, and other natural settings). This role is also responsible for completing Comprehensive Clinical Assessments, treatment planning, and submitting managed care authorizations. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong clinical judgment, comfort with complex cases, and the ability to respond to crisis situations as needed.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in a human services field
  • Active licensure in North Carolina as one of the following: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW or LCSW‑A) Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC or LCMHC‑A) Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) Licensed Psychological Associate (LPA)
  • Minimum 1 year experience working with adults with serious mental illness
  • Strong understanding of ACT Team model and community-based treatment
  • Knowledge of social work and therapy principles, family and group dynamics
  • Ability to manage complex cases and express ideas clearly and concisely
  • Familiarity with managed care processes and authorization submissions
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating within a multidisciplinary team
  • Valid driver’s license and auto insurance required
  • Travel will vary daily and occurs within the community where members live and work

Nice To Haves

  • 3–5 years of behavioral health experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual, family, and group counseling to ACT members in community settings
  • Complete Comprehensive Clinical Assessments and ongoing clinical documentation
  • Develop and implement treatment plans tailored to members with serious mental illness
  • Participate in interdisciplinary ACT Team meetings and collaborate with team members
  • Provide crisis intervention and be available for urgent clinical needs
  • Submit service authorizations and maintain compliance with managed care requirements
  • Apply ACT principles, trauma‑informed care, and evidence‑based practices
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation
