About The Position

River Oaks Hospital, located in metropolitan New Orleans, Louisiana, is a private psychiatric facility for adults, adolescents and children. River Oaks Hospital is seeking a dynamic and talented Social Worker/Therapist for our IOP/PHP Therapy Program. Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to providing clinical social work expertise to hospital wide programs; deliver social services in assigned areas according to patient needs, adhere to standards of patient quality care and work as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team and within guidelines set by the Social Services Department and the individual unit Program Director. Requirements

  • Two years post graduate work experience in mental health or related field preferred.
  • Two years direct practice experience and/or clinical (graduate, continuing ed., etc.) training specific to individual, family and group therapy (if specialized issues group, training must be specific to issue)
  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a mental health field required
  • Must have a current certification or licensure by the State of Louisiana (LCSW, LPC, or LMFT) or under supervision pursuing licensure for LCSW, LPC, or LMFT
  • Must have good clinical skills to assess dynamics accurately and develop effective treatment strategies within the context of the overall treatment plan.
  • Must have good analytical ability to evaluate information reported by all members of the treatment team and revise treatment strategies accordingly.
  • Must have communication and teamwork abilities to support the clinicians, nurses and utilization review colleagues working with the population.
  • Must possess a working knowledge of how to identify appropriate referral resources within the community and organizational skills to engage in case management, including discharge planning.
  • Ability to assess the needs and provide the required range of treatment modalities and interventions
  • A minimum of one year experience in discharge planning, clinical case management or a similar position in a community based agency setting which provides experience in referrals for patients.
  • Experience with performing utilization reviews.
