About The Position

Responsible professional work delivering therapeutic interventions including individual/family interventions and/or behavioral interventions to youth and their families. Primary clients access services through the Family Services Initiative of the Juvenile Welfare Board of Pinellas. Individuals participate in the organization’s continuous quality improvement efforts. Must be Bilingual (i.e. English and Spanish)

Requirements

A Master’s Degree from an accredited university or college in the field of social work, counseling, or psychology and two years’ experience providing counseling and behavior modification services to the target population.
Must be licensed professional in the state of Florida or a Registered Intern for licensure in the state of Florida under the supervision of a Licensed Practitioner or have a CAP certification.
Must have access to transportation to provide services in the home, school, community, or in office based on the needs of the family.
Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Must successfully complete and maintain FDLE clearance, Federal background and state criminal background check and sexual predator screening.
Proven ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing. Ability to establish effective working relationships with families, coworkers, supervisors, and other individuals. Possess effective interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of the agency’s organizational structure, standard operating procedures, and policies.
Knowledge of child abuse or neglect reporting procedures and methods.
Knowledge of therapeutic intervention and behavior management methods, strategies, and techniques.
Knowledge of quality documentation as required by agency standards, rules, and regulations.
Ability to conduct assessments to plan treatment services and to provide follow-up services.
Ability to work as a multi-disciplinary team member in a positive, productive manner.
Visual: ability to safely operate a motor vehicle, read printed materials, and makes observations of physical facilities.
Hearing: ability to understand and comprehend spoken dialogue in individual and group settings.
Ability to speak clearly and effectively.

Responsibilities

Follows all Program and JWB guidelines, standards, and procedures in regard to privacy, access, clinical care, and documentation.
Develops and implements effective service plans designed to improve emotional problems and reduce behavioral problems. Ensures that plans developed are appropriate to the ages and populations served and includes input from the client and family.
Provides hands-on support, training, and mentorship to families.
Delivers therapeutic services using a multi-model approach on an individual and family basis to include when appropriate, behavioral modification techniques. Service delivery may occur in-home, in-school, in-office, or in the community based on family need.
Schedules regular visits with assigned client/family.
Provides on-going assessment, evaluation, treatment, discharge planning and other services as required.
Completes accurate and timely clinical documentation of the highest quality and consistent with agency standards, rules and regulations. Completes required assessments, treatment plans, closing documents, and progress notes.
Monitors the overall course of services for the client and family consistent with service plan and revises plan as needed.
Communicates with System Navigators from partner agency and other providers providing services to families served.
Attends agency and required training as directed.
Attends Monthly QA Meetings or follows up on meeting topics when absent.
Participate in all Continuous Quality Improvement activities as required including program assessment, monitoring, and reporting.
Perform other duties as assigned.
