About The Position

The YCATS therapist works with young children ages birth to 8 years and their families providing strengths-based mental health therapy services. The YCATS Program is looking for therapists with experience working with children and families or a strong desire to learn to work with young children and families. The YCATS therapist works as part of a team and may share clients with other therapists when clients are engaged in multiple services. Our 90-day orientation period offers job shadowing and observation opportunities, multiple trainings offering CEU's, and gradual building of therapist caseload. Part-time, full-time, and associate therapist positions are available. Full time positions include options for health, dental, vision benefits, life insurance, time off package, employer-matched savings, longevity pay increases and stipends, and other supplemental insurance options. Services are offered primarily in the office in-person, with options for Telehealth as well, and some potential work from home times as long as other performance standards are met. Therapists manage their own caseloads and their own client appointments. Scheduled/ days worked can be flexible. Full-time therapists are held accountable according to productivity standards and can also earn monthly bonuses for exceeding expectations. The therapist will provide individual and family therapy services, and some limited case management to young children. Other services to be provided may include diagnostic evaluations, early childhood day treatment groups, mental health consultation, and mental health prevention. Therapist manages plans and delivers mental health services, formulates treatment plans and goals, monitors and documents progress, provides case coordination, completes case documentation, and manages client appointments and scheduling. Services are provided primarily within the agency office setting at Elizabeth Place Medical Center. Services may be provided on a limited basis in families' homes, in schools, and other social service agencies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a Mental Health field.
  • Licensed in the state of Ohio as a Licensed Social Worker (LSW).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with children, parents, and professionals to provide information regarding the children's needs and strengths and the development of appropriate services.
  • Physical abilities required include sufficient mobility, sufficient strength to lift/carry a young child, language skills, ability to utilize emergency physical interventions, and to perform written paperwork (manual or automated).
  • Training and experience in the types of services provided by the team, with age-appropriate competency, using the Diagnostic and Statistical manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5 or subsequent revisions).

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate adherence to the PHP/SBHI Patient Experience philosophy, guidelines and tools.
  • Demonstrate strong ethics, honesty, and adherence to PHP/SBHI Code of Conduct and PHP/SBHI Compliance Program.
  • Schedule, provide and document all clinical services accurately and according to departmental standards utilizing and documenting evidenced based practices.
  • Collaborate with referral source, internal team members and external educational and service providers to ensure appropriate patient care and continuity of care.
  • Demonstrate clinical knowledge and skills relevant to the appropriate clinical services and intervention methods provided to patients and their families.
  • Seek medical provider consultations regarding clinical needs of patients. Maintain on-going communication with medical providers for the purpose of coordinating and evaluating patient care.
  • Demonstrate strong customer satisfaction skills in the provision of clinical care services and in coordinating care with referral sources and other stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of SBHI clinical records and assigned Program and other paperwork standards. Apply competencies to both the provision and documentation of clinical records including resolving failed activities and alerts within required timeframes.
  • Demonstrate compliance with agency standards for administration and reporting of outcome measures and documentation of utilization management of clinical care.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of other regulatory standards. Ensure that clinical records are maintained in compliance with these standards at all times.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Information Technology policies and procedures. Apply them to the documentation of clinical care according to clinical records and other agency standards.
  • Ensure all credentialing paperwork for managed care and other reimbursement parties is maintained in compliance with standards.
  • Attend required staff meetings and trainings including annual Healthstream trainings. Participate in case conferences as needed.
  • Meet consistently with Program Supervisor and Program Director and as needed to review clinical care of patients according to licensing and agency standards and agency supervision plan.
  • Participate and complete and correct monthly Peer Reviews.
  • Ensure productivity standards are met consistently as applicable to departmental standards.
  • Provide clinical services within a client-centered and strengths-based approach, consistent with the philosophies of YCATS and applicable accreditation organizations.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of SBHI and YCATS clinical records and other paperwork standards. Apply competencies in both the provision and documentation of clinical records.
  • Build effective relationships with external organizations and stakeholders. Demonstrate a collaborative approach to consultation services by taking initiative to address customer and client needs and to deliver services accordingly.
  • Act as a representative of YCATS and SBHI by presenting a positive customer-centered image to the community.
  • Participate in the research, strategic planning and implementation of activities to promote departmental services, including decentralized locations and new service initiatives.
  • Build effective relationships internally and externally, taking initiative to engage others both within YCATS and outside of YCATS as able.
  • Act as a resource to other therapists, share knowledge of clinical and compliance standards with other team members; provide guidance and feedback.
  • Attend all offered internal trainings regarding BH Redesign.
  • Ensure releases of information are obtained for outside entities providing services to the client and initiate communication regarding client progress in other settings.
  • Maintain regular communication with client caretakers to facilitate treatment goals and to assess client and family's commitment to treatment.
