The Loudoun County Department of Mental Health, Substance Abuse and Developmental Services is seeking a dedicated and skilled Therapist for the Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) program. This role is crucial in providing integrated and effective care to individuals affected by mental health and substance use disorders. The ACT program is designed for individuals with high service needs who often experience psychiatric hospitalizations, incarcerations, or episodes of homelessness. As a Therapist, you will be part of a reputable team that emphasizes person-centered, recovery-oriented services and supports, working diligently to connect individuals and their families with the necessary resources for recovery. In this position, you will engage with clients in various settings, including street outreach, shelters, drop-in centers, and other community locations throughout Loudoun County. Your responsibilities will include conducting intakes, assessments, and evaluations, as well as providing individual and group therapy. You will also be involved in crisis intervention and stabilization, including the assessment for Emergency Custody Orders and presenting cases to the Magistrate. Collaboration with other agencies and coordination of treatment services will be essential components of your role. Additionally, you will support clients during inpatient psychiatric hospitalizations and incarceration, ensuring continuity of care and participating in discharge and release planning. This position requires a commitment to maintaining clinical records and documentation in accordance with federal, state, and agency policies. As a member of a busy, mobile clinical team, you will utilize advanced clinical skills and may be required to transport individuals in program vehicles. Given that ACT services are provided year-round, this role will involve working days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
