As a Therapist or Provisional Therapist, you will provide counseling and therapeutic services tailored to the individual needs of clients. You will conduct assessments, establish diagnoses, develop treatment plans, facilitate therapy sessions, and collaborate closely with internal and external partners to support client progress. Requirements

  • Must possess at least a Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related field
  • Holds provisional licensure with the applicable state board: PLPC, LMSW, or PLMFT
  • Must be able to obtain full licensure, including completion of supervised hours and passage of required exam
  • Must be willing to become licensed in additional states if needed
  • Must be willing and comfortable providing telehealth services (training provided)
  • Successful completion of background checks including criminal record, driving record, abuse/neglect, and fingerprint check
  • Must complete New Hire Orientation at the beginning of employment
  • Must complete all required training, including Relias, at the beginning of employment and annually thereafter
  • Current driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and current auto insurance
  • Must complete Behavioral Management training within required time frames (CPI, Peaceful Intervention, or Verbal De-escalation depending on program)
  • Understanding of Collaborative Service Goals (CSGs) within 30 days of employment
  • Completion of all required training hours as outlined by program regulations
  • Must provide applicable licensure/certifications
  • For school‑based programs, must be able to provide services onsite during school operating hours
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, manage caseloads, and maintain professional boundaries
  • Strong knowledge of mental health and substance use disorder treatment practices

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual, group, and family counseling using evidence‑based therapeutic practices aligned with client treatment goals
  • Conduct intake screenings and comprehensive assessments to identify client needs, presenting concerns, and diagnostic criteria
  • Determine diagnoses based on assessment findings and document them in accordance with regulatory and agency standards
  • Develop individualized treatment plans that evolve as client needs and progress change
  • Participate in clinical staffing and treatment meetings to provide input on client cases and support team collaboration
  • Coordinate with internal departments to ensure service authorizations, documentation, and communication meet required timelines
  • Document all therapeutic services in compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and agency guidelines
  • Correct any charting or documentation deficiencies within specified time frames
  • Support client transitions by completing required summaries, plans, letters, and follow‑up documentation
  • Represent the agency professionally within the community and maintain positive relationships with clients, referral sources, and colleagues
  • Respond to crisis situations, providing emergency intervention or coordinating services as needed
  • Facilitate therapeutic groups, psychoeducation, trauma‑informed services, and specialty interventions as assigned
  • Provide guidance or clinical consultation to team members when clinically appropriate
  • Maintain compliance with all required training, credentialing, and ethical standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership
