Job Summary: Performs assessment, diagnostic evaluation, crisis intervention, case management, and therapeutic services for individuals, families, and groups with substance abuse issues; provides community consultation and education and staff orientation and training; assists in team supervision and participates in the planning, development, and implementation of services as part of the ACT Team.
Requirements
- Knowledge of various modes of psychotherapy and evidence-based practices, especially crisis intervention and short-term models using individual, group, and familial approaches.
- Skill in assessment procedures, diagnostic evaluation, therapeutic treatment, and case management practices including follow-up and closure.
- Ability to establish therapeutic alliance with patients and their families.
- Ability to work effectively on a multi-disciplinary team and with the public.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Actively seek feedback and supervision, and engage in personal reflection and self-correction
- Acknowledges impact of own feelings and cultural values on practice
- Knowledge of ethical principles and state laws
- Knowledge of and adheres to state reporting and regulatory guidelines
- Maintains appropriate boundaries with patients
- Assesses for trauma and engages in trauma informed practices
- Knowledge of developmental needs of population served
- Will have at least a Master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or a behavioral health related field.
- Current New Mexico license in the field of counseling, social work, psychology, Licensed Substance Abuse Associate Counselor (LSAA), or Licensed Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor (LADAC).
- Must maintain a clean driving record, valid driver’s license, and current car insurance. Must submit to LCDF required background check, TB screen and drug testing.

- Preference will be given to individuals with training or experience in integrated treatment for co-occurring disorders
Responsibilities
- Performs assessment, diagnostic evaluation, crisis intervention, case management, and therapeutic services for individuals, families, and groups with substance abuse issues
- Provides community consultation and education and staff orientation and training
- Assists in team supervision and participates in the planning, development, and implementation of services as part of the ACT Team
- Assesses and incorporates culture into assessment and treatment processes
- Formulates realistic, patient centered treatment goals and evaluate progress toward goals
