Therapeutic Training & Support Staff/Therapeutic Mentor

About the position

This is a bachelor's level dual position where you would be taking cases as both a Therapeutic Training & Support Staff (TT&S) in the IHT program and a Therapeutic Mentor (TM) in the TM Program. Fuller Hospital is a 109-bed licensed, private psychiatric facility located in South Attleboro, Massachusetts providing inpatient and outpatient behavioral health services to residents of Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Inpatient units are designed to treat adults with general psychiatric or intellectual disabilities, as well as adolescents with general psychiatric issues. Patients with co-occurring psychiatric and substance abuse disorders can be treated on most units. Fuller Hospital also provides a less intensive Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) to patients with psychiatric and co-occurring psychiatric and substance abuse. Our Community Services Program houses 2 separate programs - The In-Home Therapy Program (IHT) and the Therapeutic Mentoring (TM) Program: IHT is a service that provides youth with intensive therapy and family sessions in the home, guided by a master's-level clinician (IHT) and a bachelor's-level support staff (TT&S). Our goal within IHT is to meet with the family (often multiple times per week), in order to improve family dynamics, healthy functioning within the home/community, and to ultimately prevent them from stepping up to a higher level of care. We work intensively with the family until they are stabilized and able to transition to a lower level of care (i.e., outpatient therapy). TM is less intensive and involves taking the child/adolescent out into the community to work on various skills such as teaching daily living skills, practicing social and communication skills connecting the client to community resources, etc.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside a master's level In-Home Therapist to provide mental and behavioral health services to children/adolescents and their families in their homes.
• Co-facilitate family sessions when able.
• Work with the client individually, practicing and building various skills.
• Take the client out into the community to work on skill building and identifying community resources.
• Speak weekly with a MA level 'Hub' for guidance with interventions and treatment.
• Create safety plans with clients for crisis situations.
• Document progress notes and billing for the week.
• Complete treatment plan updates every 3 months as a TM.
• Attend mandatory staff meetings and supervision sessions.

Requirements

• Education: bachelor's degree or high school diploma with at least 2 years working with children/adolescents.
• Experience: 1-2 years' experience preferred.
