About The Position

Therapeutic Recreational Assistant Winona Senior Services 1.0 FTE, 80 Hours a Pay Period Schedule: Day Hours, 9 am-5 pm Weekends: None Holidays: None Telecommute: No Position Overview: The Therapeutic Recreation Assistant provides life-enriching activities to residents of Lake Winona Manor. This individual’s initiatives will reflect the standards of Winona Health and conforms to the mission, philosophy, policies and procedures of the department. The individual will organize and carryout a leisure program designed to meet the resident’s interests and needs monitored by a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS). Essential Duties & Responsibilities: This individual will conduct leisure programs and 1:1 visits as well as documentation as directed by a CTRS. They will work within the interdisciplinary team to promote an atmosphere of engagement for all levels of our residents. This individual will assist and direct volunteers when directed by a CTRS This individual will provide observation and input regarding the resident’s leisure status to ensure appropriate care planning. Complete departmental duties, i.e. birthday board, door decorations, monthly calendar, etc. Individual will be capable of driving the TR Bus and Van to facilitate outings. Skills and Experience: Required: High school/GED/equivalent. Valid Drivers License. CPR Certification. Completed training in self-improvement/professional development as assigned by Therapeutic Recreation Manager. Completed van competency test with valid drivers license and willingness to drive resident transport vehicle. Basic computer skills; Word, Excel, Outlook. Preferred: One-year experience in Long Term Care preferred. Required Work Schedule: Generally, works within the 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM timeframe. Monday through Friday with rotating weekend, holidays, and occasional weekly or evening programming. Requirements
