About The Position

Join our team at the Tiffin Developmental Center as a Therapeutic Program Worker (TPW) on the 2nd shift (2:20 PM - 10:50 PM). As a TPW, you will be a direct care worker who helps residents with daily living skills and assists them in becoming more independent to achieve their goals. The support provided will vary based on each person's needs and capabilities. Requirements

  • Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition & subtraction and in reading, writing & speaking common English vocabulary.
  • Must possess a high school diploma or a certificate of high school equivalence as per Ohio Administrative Code 5123:2-3-01(F)(1)(c).
  • A valid driver's license is required for positions that involve transporting consumers to activities.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in therapy or therapeutic services.
  • Experience in direct support or direct care.

Responsibilities

  • Assists residents with eating, bathing, toileting, personal hygiene, oral hygiene, dressing, grooming, communication, money management, etiquette, and social skills.
  • Implements active treatment activities such as gym, pavilion, activity room, and pool.
  • Assists with planning and shopping activities (e.g., shopping, vocational skills, hair appointments).
  • Completes various daily and monthly documentation, including documentation of any unusual incidents or reporting any reactions to medication.
  • Performs light housekeeping duties in the living areas.
  • Assists with redirecting unsafe actions to bring about positive outcomes.

Benefits

  • Starting hourly pay of $22.60, with the first raise in 4 months to $22.96.
  • Multiple pay increases over the first 3.5 years of service, with an end salary of $25.77 per hour ($53,602 per year) for first shift employees.
  • Shift differential pay for 2nd & 3rd shifts.
