About The Position

- The Therapeutic Mentor at LIFESTREAM BEHAVIORAL CENTER is responsible for providing guidance and support to youth and adolescents facing emotional and behavioral challenges. The role involves working closely with clients to develop coping strategies, enhance social skills, and foster personal growth, contributing to their overall mental well-being and integration into the community.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with children and adolescents in a therapeutic or mentoring role.
  • Experience in developing and implementing individualized care plans for clients.
  • Proven track record of working effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Strong understanding of therapeutic techniques and behavioral management strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Proficiency in maintaining accurate and detailed client records.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing client needs and schedules.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning in the field of behavioral health.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain therapeutic relationships with clients to support their emotional and social development.
  • Collaborate with clinical teams to create individualized treatment plans tailored to each client's needs.
  • Facilitate one-on-one and group mentoring sessions to promote positive behavioral changes and skill development.
  • Assist clients in identifying personal goals and implementing strategies to achieve them.
  • Monitor and document client progress, providing regular updates to the clinical team and family members.
  • Encourage and support clients in participating in community activities and programs to enhance their social skills and integration.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support as needed, ensuring the safety and well-being of clients.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical and professional standards in all interactions with clients and their families.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with best practices in therapeutic mentoring.
