About The Position

Under the assigned Director of Programs , provide oversight to therapeutic foster care staff and their caseload of ten treatment foster care children and families. Will ensure that the child’s needs for safety, permanency, wellbeing and placement stability are met within the context of an evidence-based model of treatment foster care using a trauma informed approach.

Requirements

  • MSW/MA degree required
  • 5+ years of child welfare experience including direct case management
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience
  • Availability to participate in evidence-based model training, coaching and fidelity to certification once hired required.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to produce results while working in a hybrid location.
  • Demonstrate the ability to manage crisis timely and professionally.
  • Willingness to work flexible and non-traditional hours, including evening and weekends, as needed.
  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate in a clear, comprehensible manner, both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrate the ability to motivate children, their families and foster parents to participate in a highly detailed treatment model.
  • Valid driver’s license, in good standing for the state of residency required.
  • Reliable personal transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Review intake information of clients referred to the program and in conjunction with the Director Programs determine if the referral will be accepted.
  • Oversee case responsibilities for the therapeutic foster care program and provide guidance in case planning.
  • Ensure the development and implementation of clinically sound individualized crisis management plans.
  • Work with team members to engage families in the treatment and planning.
  • Staff all cases with appropriate staff weekly.
  • Provide supervision to professional and para-professional staff on therapeutic approaches with clients.
  • Review all written documents generated by staff.
  • Attend court hearings, case reviews, staffing, and meetings as needed.
  • Review funding source policies and procedures and train staff on the implementation of these procedures.
  • Ensure that the required documents are in the case file.
  • Participate in various collateral and community groups to promote agency programs and to network with the community.
  • Complete various outcome reports as required.
  • Participate in required meetings and trainings including with funding source.
  • Provide staff with training, education, and ongoing supervision and support.
  • Ensure adherence to contractual obligations with the funding source.
  • Handle client, staff, caretaker, and/or collateral complaints and grievances.
  • Conduct regular unit meetings with staff.
  • Participate in agency management meetings and work groups.
  • Assist CQI in the development of agency documentation to enhance programming and to meet the requirements of the funding source policies and procedures.
  • Work to ensure quality of service and the achievement of program outcome goals.
  • Provide direct service to children and families in the absence of assigned staff.
  • Manage a 24-hour response system, which may be for referral intake and/or client emergencies.
  • Manage case assignments to ensure an equal distribution of cases and to maintain the appropriate staff-to-client ratios as outlined by the funding source.
  • Ensure adequate client contact is maintained in accordance with specific program guidelines and the minimum required contact hours are achieved each month.
  • Ensure staff at all levels are closely monitoring child and client safety and are appropriately responsive to any situation posing a risk to, or by, a client.
  • Complete and submit performance appraisals in a timely manner.
  • Meet program outcomes and benchmarks as mutually established each fiscal year and reviewed in supervision on a minimum of a quarterly basis.
  • Maintain a positive organizational culture.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
