About the position

The Therapeutic Behavioral Services (TBS) Coordinator plays a crucial role in coordinating services for at-risk children and families under the supervision of the Clinical Director of Intensive Community Based Services (ICBS). This position involves direct supervision of TBS Specialists, monitoring client progress, and ensuring the implementation of treatment plans. The TBS Coordinator collaborates closely with the Clinical Director and other team members to provide compassionate support and therapeutic services, promoting justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Directly supervise the performance of TBS Specialists and conduct weekly individual supervision plans and staff meetings.
  • Participate in monthly meetings with team members to discuss treatment plans and client progress.
  • Review diagnoses as necessary to ensure clinical validity.
  • Complete Supplemental TBS Assessment for TBS clients.
  • Contact referral sources to determine client eligibility for services.
  • Instruct referral sources on completing and submitting TBS referral forms and necessary documentation.
  • Initiate contact with new referrals' parents or caregivers.
  • Complete LAUSD Service Delivery Application for clients receiving school-based services if applicable.
  • Monitor LAUSD Service Delivery Application from submission through approval.
  • Participate in intake meetings with clients, families, TBS Specialists, and therapists/referring professionals.
  • Participate in Wraparound Child Family Team meetings as needed.
  • Serve as a liaison between TBS Specialists, parents, school personnel, and other team members regarding clients' progress and needs.
  • Accurately chart and document services according to agency and county deadlines and regulations.
  • Be available for consultation with TBS Specialists.
  • Drive personal vehicle as necessary.
  • Actively participate in scheduled staff meetings and agency-wide meetings.
  • Represent the agency in TBS Round Table meetings and other community meetings as required.
  • Ensure ongoing staff training and development.
  • Oversee case assignments and ensure an appropriate level of service.
  • Ensure direct reports are accountable for productivity and documentation expectations.
  • Ensure accurate and high-quality documentation from program staff is submitted within agency timeframes.
  • Participate in observations of staff within 90 days of hire and annually thereafter.
  • Actively participate in quality improvement projects.
  • Promote a trauma-informed work environment.
  • Take on special projects or additional duties as assigned by the Clinical Director of ICBS.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Social Work or Psychology required.
  • Minimum 1 year experience providing community-based therapy preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years experience providing direct behavioral support to children and/or adolescents with severe behaviors preferred.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory/management position preferred.
  • Previous experience collaborating with referring agencies preferred.
  • Valid Licensed Clinical Social Worker license or equivalent.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
  • Knowledge of functional behavioral analysis and positive behavioral interventions.
  • Knowledge of Department of Mental Health paperwork preferred.
