Requirements

  • Prior experience in theft/loss prevention, security or law enforcement (preferred)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Superior observational skills
  • Working knowledge of surveillance equipment
  • Ability to recognize dangerous/unsafe environments
  • Willing to attend meetings and training
  • Must be willing to drive long distances in multiple states
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license with acceptable MVR
  • General computer skills are a must
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Travel greater than 75%

Responsibilities

  • The Theft Prevention Specialist will be required to determine which leads and stakeouts are a priority to investigate.
  • The specialist will monitor surveillance cameras and do physical surveillance at locations throughout Baker Commodities' service areas.
  • The specialist will build and maintain working relationships with local, county, and state law enforcement, as well as Baker Commodities customers, to prevent and deter theft.
  • Required to work with other departments to create theft prevention plans and educational materials for customers and law enforcement officials. The specialist will work directly for the division manager while working with the sales and Operations department.
  • A specialist may be called upon to deliver or pick up equipment from customer locations, driving a company pick-up or non-CDL stake body truck.
  • The specialist will also report to operations regarding any service issues with customers (e.g., need service, need equipment swap, etc.).
  • As part of this position, servicing (PMs) and minor repairs on inside collection systems will be required. The individual will be directed by Inside Tank Sales and Service in Los Angeles to coordinate scheduling for required maintenance and service.
  • Must submit a weekly report to the President and LA General Manager that includes all activities, progress reports, dealings with customers, law enforcement, grease thieves, etc.
  • A company vehicle will be provided. The vehicle will remain with the specialist.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, nights, and weekends.
  • Interact with others in a professional, cooperative, and ethical manner.
  • Follow department and Company procedures.
  • Keep up regular attendance and punctuality; regular attendance and punctuality are essential for the smooth operation of this Company.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
