About The Position

The Part-Time Theatre Technician position at Henry County Schools Performing Arts Center(s) involves working at multiple locations with a flexible schedule that includes days, evenings, weekends, and holiday periods. The technician will be responsible for setting up and operating various theatrical equipment, including lighting, sound, stage, and rigging. This role requires considerable manual labor, including moving heavy equipment and working at heights. The position is on an as-needed basis according to the event schedule, with no guaranteed minimum number of work hours. Extensive on-the-job training will be provided, along with self-study materials.

Requirements

• Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Physical ability to perform manual labor and lift heavy equipment
• Ability to climb ladders and work at heights
• Visual acuity to assess lighting and sound levels

Responsibilities

• Setting up and operating theatrical lighting, sound, stage, and rigging equipment
• Performing light clerical duties and other assigned tasks
• Moving chairs, tables, stands, concert, and other staging equipment up to 70 pounds
• Standing and/or sitting for extended periods
• Climbing ladders and working at heights of up to 30 feet
• Visually assessing and setting lighting intensities and colors
• Discerning sound levels and balancing between individual audio sources
