About The Position

Cherry Lane Theatre is seeking a Theatre Manager. This position is responsible for managing the logistical needs of a production or company. This includes managing and delivering payroll to the cast and crew, owning policy management, managing front of house staff, and serving as the primary point of contact between the company including cast, creative, administrative teams and theatre administration. The ideal candidate is someone who is solution-oriented, well organized, and a team player.

Requirements

  • Acting knowledge of the theatrical unions AEA, SDC, USA, AFM
  • Minimum of 4 years of company management experience, Off Broadway or Broadway preferred
  • House management experience preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. Congenial nature and unflappable attitude. Team oriented.
  • CPR training will be provided upon employment
  • FDNY certificates F-O3 & S-95 required for employment, which will be coordinated by Cherry Lane Theatre upon hiring
  • Must be adaptable and able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Discretion and positive professional attitude
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, Google Suite

Responsibilities

  • Act as primary and immediate representative of Cherry Lane Theatre to cast, crew, musicians, and creative team, including working with stage management and general management to ensure rehearsals have all necessary elements needed
  • Generate reports for weekly payroll for union and non-union employees of current production(s)
  • Prepare and collect new hire paperwork for new cast and crew
  • Arrange and organize all travel and housing for out-of-town artists (including visas where applicable)
  • Supervise front of house staff and operations
  • Arrange all ground transportation for celebrity artists and out-of-town actors for productions and press events
  • Facilitate press photo shoots, B-Roll shoots and publicity events
  • Organize and provide all pertinent production information primarily for program printing
  • Assist theater leadership with contract preparation and execution
  • Audit and report nightly box office statements and weekly financial settlements
  • File workers comp claims and assist company members with the insurance process
  • Attend meetings with Production and related personnel, including management meetings and marketing meetings
  • Assist with the planning and execution of company events, parties, Opening Nights etc.
  • Work with House Manager in coordinating back-stage guests
  • Generate and deliver union reports
  • Manage and execute house seat requests
  • Oversee the box office and manage sales for all events and memberships
  • Build and maintain all events, memberships, and reports; including financial reporting
  • Provide sales reporting and analysis to inform marketing and pricing strategy
  • Process group sales
