About The Position

The Department of Theatre and Dance at Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU Denver) invites applications for part-time affiliate faculty teaching positions. This listing is for potential future affiliate faculty needs for our Theatre History and Social Justice Program. The number of these temporary, part-time, non-tenure track academic positions varies from semester to semester, depending on the needs of the program. As such, not everyone in the applicant pool for this position will be contacted and/or selected to teach.

Requirements

• A Bachelor of Arts in Theatre or a related field, plus 6 years of relevant experience.
• A Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre or a related field, plus 4 years of relevant experience.

Nice To Haves

• A Master of Fine Arts in Theatre or related field, plus 2 years of relevant experience.
• A Master of Arts Degree in Theatre, plus 3 years of relevant experience.
• A Doctorate in Theatre or related field, plus 2 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Teaching assigned classes in person or online by delivering course content to students.
• Preparing course materials and lesson plans.
• Grading student work and providing robust feedback in a timely manner.
• Addressing student questions consistent with university, college/school, and department policies.
• Providing online or in-person academic support to students as needed.
• Providing instruction in assigned classes consistent with the content and learning objectives of the regular course syllabus.
• Maintaining office hours.
• Complying with university-wide student evaluation of instruction policies and peer observation policies.
• Adapting and learning new modes of instruction.
