About The Position

In order to create a pool of qualified applicants, Sierra College accepts applications in all subject areas and conducts interviews for teaching positions throughout the year. Applications are kept in the hiring pool for a period of two years. The number of open positions varies from semester to semester. Requirements

• Master's or Master of Fine Arts in drama/theater arts/performance.
• Bachelor's or Bachelor of Fine Arts in drama/theater arts/performance AND Master's in comparative literature, English, communication studies, speech, literature or humanities, or the equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Review and evaluate curriculum to meet student interests and needs within budget constraints.
• Coordinate with adjunct faculty to enhance consistency of lecture and laboratory content.
• Prepare lesson plans and coordinate lectures with laboratory learning assignments.
• Introduce and present lecture/laboratory information in a clear and logical manner.
• Develop quizzes, tests, and laboratory/classroom examinations to evaluate student progress.
• Hold regular office hours and provide advice to students regarding academic performance.
• Attend and participate in departmental meetings and activities.
• Provide students with letters of recommendation, as requested.
