About The Position

The Theater Technician position at Kennesaw State University is a part-time role focused on assisting with the technical and production needs of dance and theater events. The technician will work under the direction of department leaders to ensure successful execution of performances, while maintaining a safe environment for all participants. This role requires a blend of technical skills, teamwork, and effective communication to support various production activities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Three (3) years of experience in theater and/or dance production or similar field

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in Theater Production or similar field preferred
• Work experience in a production environment of the department specialty (i.e., Dance Theater, Museums, Theater production)

Responsibilities

• Assists the department leaders and staff with technical and production needs of events and/or performances in the assigned location
• Oversees various areas of production, depending on the needs of the event, under the direction of the manager
• Helps ensure that performers, designers, and crewmembers work safely in the venue
• Runs shows and operates equipment in a manner that leads to client and artist success

Benefits

• Salary of $20.00 per hour based on candidate experience and budget availability
