About The Position

Marquee Arts is looking for a dynamic individual with a passion for community, guest relations, film, theater and live events to join the team as a Theater Manager. The Theater Manager is the primary supervisor of day-to-day Front of House operations. They provide leadership and direction to the Front of House Team to ensure that all team members are guest-focused, team-focused, and contributing to enhancing the overall Marquee Arts guest experience. These efforts include customer service and guest relations, managing and overseeing the hiring, scheduling, and training of employees, managing, and overseeing the day-to-day operations, policy and procedure adherence, and other objectives in support of the mission of Marquee Arts.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • A minimum of two years' management experience in entertainment, food/bar service, catering or event management.
  • Experience in supervising a team of 15+ individuals.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products, point of sale, box office, and CRM platforms.
  • A working knowledge of basic household maintenance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, as well as work collaboratively and diplomatically with others.
  • Strong decision-making skills, leadership and supervision skills, problem solving skills, customer service skills, technical skills, process and project management skills, attention to detail and organization, and energetic and driven.
  • A passion for community, history, public storytelling, cinema, and the arts.
  • Applicants must be able to pass training programs and obtain food handling and alcohol service permits, if applicable.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the General Manager in the implementation of strategies that continually enhance our customer and guest experience and standards.
  • Assist the General Manager in the development and implementation of policies and procedures for the Front of House team.
  • Uphold, administer, and ensure adherence to all Marquee Arts policies and procedures, including attendance, dress code, code of conduct, safety, sanitary procedures, laws and ordinances, etc.
  • Supervision and management of Shift Managers and Team Members; ensure they have the tools and resources necessary, ensure adherence to policies and procedures, provide coaching and training as needed, and conduct annual performance review process.
  • Continually seek opportunities to recognize excellence, inspire and mentor, and boost team morale.
  • Supervise the maintenance, cleanliness, safety, and operation of the theater buildings, internally and externally, and Front of House equipment.
  • Assist to ensure the best move picture and sound quality; includes participation in regular film/event observation and scoring and elevating and responding to feedback received.
  • Manage staff scheduling process and schedules.
  • Assist the General Manager with reviewing and approving bi-weekly payroll; includes reviewing payroll reports to ensure staff are adhering to policies and procedures related to paid time-off, scheduling requirements, attendance, etc.
  • Assist the General Manager with inventory ordering and management.
  • Assist the General Managing in meeting financial goals & budgets: concessions, payroll, operating costs, etc.
  • Responsible for Front of House banking: cash deposits, withdrawals, maintaining accurate cash totals, etc.
  • Supervision to ensure that the theaters are opened and closed according to policies and procedures; which includes reviewing daily and nightly reports to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Risk management; employee and guest safety, loss prevention, emergency situations, and the proper handling, reporting, and investigating of accidents/incidents.
  • Assistance with live and rental events; ensure appropriate staffing levels, assist with logistics and set-up, collaborate with other departments as needed, etc.
  • Responsible for ensuring displays are maintained and updated in a timely and correct manner; poster rotation, display of various marketing materials, marquee changes, etc.
  • Develop and submit reports as needed and requested.
  • Attendance at staff and departmental meetings as requested.
  • Attendance and support at required events, festivals, and conferences as requested.
