Raytheon’s System Engineering and Test Capabilities (SE&TC) Surface Radars & Sensors (SR&S) Center is seeking a (THAAD UAE) Technical Manual Writer, you’ll support the development of all aspects of the THAAD TMs. In this role, you’ll be part of a team of writers and illustrators in the development of operational and maintenance manuals of the THAAD program.

Requirements

  • Typically requires A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience.
  • Experience creating/editing written technical documentation in a military and/or civilian environment.
  • Experience with the Eagle Publishing System, MIL Standard 40051 and/or S1000D.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • Active and existing security clearance required on day 1

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting projects in an Agile environment and Agile mindset with the ability to pivot when circumstances change, or direction is set.
  • Experience with Arbortext, Notepad++, and/or other program.
  • Experience leading a cross-functional team, with a strong ability to communicate effectively within a geographically dispersed team.
  • Knowledgeable on organizational maintenance and remove and replace techniques.
  • Knowledgeable with radar theory and radar propagation.

Responsibilities

  • Assess Engineering data for impacts to existing technical content.
  • Develop Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs) and other documentation, including material addressing: System functional theory Operations Preventive and corrective maintenance, schematics and illustrated parts breakdowns from compiled engineering technical reports, drawings, and parts lists
  • Coordinate / support all Safety and Engineering Peer Reviews of TMs.
  • Coordinate / support all Validation requirements and events.
  • Conduct quality review of materials.
  • This role will require travel (up to 20%).
  • Ability to work independently and analyze technical documentation.
  • Ability to set guidelines and standards
  • Technical aptitude and self-driven
  • Ability to mentor the newer members of the team, to grow the team.
