We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software Configuration Analyst to join our team supporting the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) program. As a Software Configuration Analyst, you will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity and accuracy of software configurations for the THAAD system, a cutting-edge missile defense system that protects our nation and its allies from ballistic missile threats.

Requirements

  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical abilities; track record of resolving complex configuration issues.
  • Self‑driven with the ability to work independently and lead cross‑functional teams.
  • Active Secret Security Clearance

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Software Configuration Management (SCM) team – set goals, assign tasks, conduct performance reviews, and foster career development for analysts and engineers.
  • Develop and maintain the software configuration management environment to support configuration identification, control, reporting, and delivery of both internally developed and externally purchased commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) software products.
  • Oversee configuration management and release engineering activities, ensuring new software products are documented, packaged correctly, meet hardware configuration requirements, and are ready for distribution to internal and external users.
  • Design, develop, and automate productivity tools (using programming, database, or scripting languages) to sustain and improve the SCM environment.
  • Create, maintain, and enforce SCM policies and procedures across the THAAD component, ensuring consistency and compliance with contractual and security mandates.
  • Coordinate SCM requirements with customers, subcontractors, and other THAAD organizations; act as the primary point of contact for configuration‑related issues.
  • Manage migration initiatives (e.g., Apex/ClearCase → GitLab, Nexus, Subversion; ClearQuest → Jira) and provide guidance on change‑management database administration.
  • Train and mentor users on SCM tools, best practices, and security handling; develop training materials and conduct workshops.
  • Administer the Component Software Development Library (SDL), tracking and releasing deliverables in accordance with contract requirements and schedule.
  • Facilitate Software Configuration Control Boards (SCCBs) – schedule, prepare agendas, record minutes, and ensure action items are completed.
  • Conduct regular SCM audits and metrics reporting to senior leadership, identifying improvement opportunities and ensuring compliance with ISO 9000, CMMI, and other applicable standards.
  • Collaborate with Data Management and Program Software Development Library to coordinate shipments of software work products, ensuring proper markings, retention, and distribution.
  • Drive long‑term SCM process improvement initiatives, aligning them with the 21st Century Security® vision and overall program strategy.
