About The Position

The Surgical Technologist position involves describing anatomy and steps for surgeries, using sterile techniques, and assisting the surgical team during procedures. The role requires collaboration with other members of the operating room (OR) team and the transportation of patients. The Surgical Technologist must demonstrate knowledge of normal growth and development in the delivery of care, facilitate open communication with all team members, and initiate and support the teaching and mentoring process. Maintaining a safe work environment and resolving problems on a one-to-one basis are also key responsibilities. The position includes an active role in professional development and participation in the development and implementation of educational programs for the surgical technologist program. The candidate should demonstrate the ability to perform surgical technology skills for all general and specialty-based cases.

Requirements

• Must be eligible for certification by Association of Surgical Technologists
• Completion of a formal certificate or degree program in Surgical Technology
• Meeting the Association of Surgical Technologists experience requirements
• One year experience as a Surgical Technologist or comparable position in an acute care setting
