About The Position

Do you enjoy hands-on work, staying active, and being part of a mission that truly matters? Goodwill Industries of Tenneva is hiring Textile Production Team Members to support our retail operations and help transform donated goods into sellable merchandise that funds life-changing programs. In this role, you’ll play an essential part behind the scenes. Grading, pricing, tagging, and preparing donated clothing for the sales floor. Your work directly generates revenue that supports employment services, education programs, and job training opportunities across our communities. Position Details This position will begin temporarily at our Kingsport Warehouse location. Once our new Johnson City store opens, team members who are still employed with Goodwill after August will transition to the new store location and support the launch of our expanded retail operations. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on production experience while helping prepare inventory for a brand-new store opening.

  • Frequent handling of clothing and textiles

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Prior retail or production experience helpful but not required, training provided

Responsibilities

  • Inspect donated textiles for quality, condition, and usability
  • Determine appropriate disposition of items (sellable, salvage, recycle, or discard)
  • Price, tag, and hang clothing according to Goodwill standards
  • Operate the Celerant system to select price points and print merchandise tags
  • Organize garments by category, size, and price on rolling racks
  • Maintain steady production flow to meet daily and weekly performance goals
  • Identify high-quality or unique items appropriate for e-commerce or specialty sales
  • Monitor product quality to ensure an excellent customer shopping experience
  • Communicate with leadership regarding production needs, shortages, or quality concerns
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe at all times
  • Follow all safety guidelines, policies, and Goodwill’s Code of Ethics
  • Assist in other work areas as needed to support overall store operations
