About The Position

Under the direction of the Team Leader and Production Team Leader, the Textile Grader is responsible for grading donated textiles based on brand and quality using Goodwills good, better, and best grading process. In addition, the Textile Grader must maintain the production area by keeping workstation clean, neat, and in a safe condition.

Requirements

  • Ability to adhere to the organizations Core Principles.
  • Knowledge of retail and/or stock handling.
  • Ability to react calmly and react to emergency situations.
  • Ability to listen and following directions.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Knowledge of shoe brands and current trends.
  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have beginner knowledge of
  • Regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Vision abilities required by this job include: close, distance, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Standing and walking for long periods of time.
  • Ability to stoop, bend, kneel, push and pull.
  • Sufficient mobility to turn from side to side and the ability to lean and remove items from containers.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous retail and/or stock handling experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Grade donated textile based on brand and quality using Goodwills good, better, and best grading process.
  • Keep production area clean, neat, and safe.
  • Maintain well-groomed appearance and appropriate dress code including name badge.
  • Assist in Textile and Miscel power hour process per established procedure.
  • Responsible for performing their assigned duties within the framework of our Core Principles.
  • Attend in-service and related training as assigned by Team Leader.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Team Leader and Production Team Leader.
