About The Position
The Texas Children’s Hospital Transition to Practice Nurse Residency Program is designed to assist graduate nurses in transitioning from student nurse to professional nurse through a variety of opportunities and an ongoing network of support. This innovative program is specifically tailored for graduates interested in pediatric, adult cardiac, or obstetric nursing, introducing them to the realities of clinical practice. Participants will engage in group problem-solving, critical thinking exercises, and hands-on clinical applications, equipping them with the necessary tools and resources to discover their full potential. Texas Children’s Hospital is a Magnet designated facility, recognized for quality patient care, nursing excellence, and innovations in professional nursing practice. The hospital is also accredited with distinction by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Practice Transition Accreditation Program (PTAP)™, ensuring that the Nurse Residency Program delivers the knowledge, skills, and professional behaviors needed for new nurses to provide safe, high-quality care.
