About The Position

The Testing Technician position at Knowles Corporation involves a variety of responsibilities centered around testing and verifying the performance of parts under specified environmental conditions. The technician will read testing schedules, work orders, and test manuals to determine the appropriate testing procedures and equipment. This role requires the technician to connect units to test equipment, read dials and digital displays, and compare results with specifications. Additionally, the technician will analyze test results to identify causes of failure and maintain records of production and inspection data. The position also involves interaction with various departments and participation in daily management meetings to ensure safety and training goals are met. The technician must be flexible to work in different operations within production as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence in e-mails.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret line and bar graphs.
  • Ability to lift at least 15 lbs. frequently.
  • Ability to stretch and work in sitting and standing up positions.
  • All applicants must be eligible to work in the US without restriction to ITAR documentation and materials.
  • Must be a US citizen, legal permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual, English-Spanish is preferable.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems, such as Oracle and Camstar.
  • Job flexibility: this position requires you to be flexible for overtime and weekend work as required or the flexibility to work a different shift given notice by Supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Reads testing schedules, work orders, test manuals, performance specifications, and schematics to determine testing procedure and equipment to be used.
  • Tests functional performance of parts under specified environmental conditions such as temperature change, pressure, and humidity.
  • Verifies test instruments according to specifications.
  • Connects unit to test equipment.
  • Reads dials and digital displays that indicate electronic characteristics, such as temperature, humidity, voltage and current.
  • Compares results with specifications and records test data or plots test results on graphs.
  • Analyzes test results on defective units to determine cause of failure.
  • Maintains manual or computerized records of production and inspection data.
  • Handles ceramic materials and tooling up to 15 lb. of weight.
  • Interacts and coordinates with Leads, Supervisors, Managers and Engineering regarding processes and activities within operations and cross-functional departments.
  • Operates and fills in at any operation within production, as required to meet daily goals.
  • Participates in Daily Management meetings, as needed.
  • Assists with ensuring the department is meeting standards of safety, planned work & training goals.
  • Follows all manufacturing procedures and perform any ad hoc duties as assigned.
  • Reads work orders and processing charts to determine specifications.
