About The Position

Position provides clinical and clerical support to the psychologist or neuropsychologist for the administration of diagnostic testing procedures for outpatient or inpatient patient populations. Responsibilities include administration and scoring of standardized objective (non-projective) psychological or neuropsychological tests which have specific predetermined and manualized procedures which entail observing and describing test behavior and test responses and which do not require evaluation, interpretation, or other judgements. (Education Law 7605.11) as well as clerical tasks to assure timely and accurate registration, scheduling, and billing. Position will not select tests, analyze patient data, or communicate results to patients. This position requires the Licensed Psychologist Attestation of a Supervision of a Testing Technician be completed with the NYS Office of the Professions. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in psychology or a related field
  • Completion of training by a supervising licensing psychologist which must include, but not be limited to a minimum of: 80 total hours of professional ethics, studying and mastering information from test manuals, and d direct observation of a supervising licensed psychologist or trained technician administering and scoring tests,
  • 40 total hours of administering and scoring tests in the presence of a supervising licensed psychologist or trained technician provided such interaction with the supervising licensed psychologist equals or exceeds 50% of the total training time
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Current CPR

Responsibilities

  • Administer and score standardized objective psychological or neuropsychological tests as defined in NYS Education Law 7605.11 and under the direct and ongoing supervision of a licensed psychologist or neuropsychologist in no greater that a 3:1 ratio or part time equivalent thereto
  • Provide clerical support as needed for registration, scheduling, billing and/or the organization of the clinical area.
  • Participates in multidisciplinary program development and promotional activities
