About The Position

Summary: Constructs, maintains, and tests mechanical equipment, machinery, and components. Identifies parts for replacement and machines that need new parts and places orders as necessary. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Perform inspection and testing procedures per test sheet QF8262 on the equipment using available/designed test equipment Comply to and demonstrate safe work ethics Set-up (bolt on fittings) and disassembly of equipment to be tested Daily maintenance of testing equipment and test facility Assist senior technicians in the performance of their duties Assist all departments as required to achieve product deadlines Maintain test area and test equipment, including cleaning and or painting Perform other related duties as assigned This list of “Essential Functions” is not intended to be limiting. Qualifications: High School diploma or GED required; graduate of a technical/vocational training program is preferred. Minimum one year mechanical experience preferred. Knowledge in the use of precision measuring devices. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, memos, and learn all basic test procedures. Ability to write simple correspondence and fill out test forms. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Must be able to convey ideas and concepts verbally or by sketch. Must be able to read and understand various service manuals, electrical diagrams, and troubleshooting guides. Must be able to read and understand the Thompson Pump & Manufacturing Co., Inc. Employee Handbook, safety plans/programs, safety training materials and MSDS sheets.

Requirements
