About The Position

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking a Tester I-2nd Shift. The rate for this position is $24.73 per hour plus a $1.00 per hour shift differential. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. What you’ll do: The Tester I performs electrical testing on assemblies and components to verify compliance with required specifications and performance standards. This role also diagnoses and resolves complex circuitry issues within assemblies. Utilize test consoles, electrical meters, electronic testing equipment, hand tools, gauges, alignment tools, mechanical measuring devices, and product components to ensure assemblies meet customer and engineering specifications. Conduct production tests using wiring diagrams, schematics, sketches, and manufacturing documentation for medium‑voltage assemblies, switches, components, plugs, network protectors, and related equipment. Diagnose and correct electrical issues or collaborate with managers and engineers to verify circuit functionality and determine appropriate corrective actions. Prepare and maintain all required test records and documentation. Apply thorough knowledge of voltage safety requirements at all times. Travel as needed to interface with customers, support field or site‑based work, and participate in company projects, activities, or other job‑related assignments. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in electrical engineering, Mechatronics Technology OR an equivalent degree.
  • No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Greenwood, SC will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

  • Strong verbal and written communication, persuasive abilities, and analytical problem‑solving skills.

  • Ability to safely use hand and power tools, step ladders, and cranes to assemble products and verify quality in a Lean environment.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, reach at or above shoulder level, grip, and use hands for handling and feeling.
  • Frequently required to stoop, lift, carry, push, and pull.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs., and push/pull 50 lbs. or more with or without accommodation
  • Vision requirements include near and far vision, depth perception, and color discrimination.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year of industrial manufacturing experience
  • 1 year of experience using hand and pneumatic (air) tools.
  • 1 year of electrical drafting
