We have an exciting opening for a Tester I in Forest City, NC. The Tester I is responsible for testing and assembling valves prior to shipping, ensuring that all products meet quality and performance standards. This role involves using various testing instruments, including gauges, meters, pressure gauges, flow meters, and electrical units (D.C. and A.C.). The Tester I will work closely with engineering and sales teams on prototype assemblies and tests, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of high-quality products.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in a relevant field is a plus.
  • Previous experience in testing or assembly, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with proportional valves and their functions.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, including assembly instructions and testing protocols.
  • Proficient in using testing instruments and tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to [25 lbs.] and perform physical tasks such as bending, standing, and walking for extended periods.

Responsibilities

  • Testing and Assembly: Conduct tests on valves using gauges, meters, pressure gauges, flow meters, and electrical units.
  • Monitor stand gauges and pressure readings continuously to ensure compliance with operational standards.
  • Rework or return defective parts immediately to maintain quality standards.
  • Preparation for Shipping: After completing all tests, prepare valves for shipping, ensuring proper documentation and packaging.
  • Place identification stamps on valves after final testing to indicate compliance with quality standards.
  • Collaboration: Work with engineering and sales teams on prototype assembly and testing, providing feedback and insights as needed.
  • Participate in assembly work for rush orders and prototype projects when required.
  • Documentation and Quality Control: Test and record individual function parameters for valve pedigree, ensuring accurate documentation for quality assurance.
  • Maintain high standards of quality, quantity, throughput, cost reduction, and customer service.
  • Work Area Management: Keep the work area clean and organized under general supervision, adhering to safety and operational protocols.
  • Training and Support: Train new employees and assist in their onboarding as requested, sharing knowledge and best practices.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisors or management to support departmental goals and objectives.
